Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan French Cheese Nature & Moi (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan French Cheese (Nature & Moi)

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese

(Ingredients: water, vegetable fat: coconut (21%), modified starch, salt, tricalcium citrate, vegan flavor, preservative: sorbic acid, color: beta carotene, B12 vitamin.)

Here's an update on Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese.

After much deliberation and further scrutiny and tasting, I have decided to give this product one more try.  In reference to my previous July review, the artificial taste still hits me at first bite and then lingers in my mouth.  But after a few more bites, this gluten-free vegan cheese is quite a SURPRISE!

I put it on top of roasted and even microwave vegetables particularly bell peppers (capsicum) and even combined it with Nature & Moi Dairy Free Smoked Cheese for its salty and smokey flavor.  The result is a REVELATION!  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese has depth of flavor that takes it to a whole new level and its creaminess was melt-in-your-mouth.  It is quite addictive and makes for a nice interesting change!  However, I still don't appreciate the reference to goat.  But I guess that's the French way of paying homage to their goat cheese.  The French love their goat cheese so much that they have to make a vegan goat cheese.  Wow!  I stand corrected.  I thoroughly love and enjoy Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese and highly recommend it.

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheese Nature & Moi (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheese (Nature & Moi)

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Original Cheese Slices

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Mozzarella Cheese Slices

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Vegan Classic Cheese (Grated)

(Ingredients: water, modified starch, coco oil (12%), vegetable protein, salt, vegetable fiber, vegan flavors, tara (caesalpinia seeds), calcium carbonate, preservative: sorbic acid, color: beta carotene, vitamin B12.)

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Smoked Cheese (Block)

(Ingredients: water, vegetable fat: coconut (21%), modified starch, salt, tricalcium citrate, vegan flavor, preservative: sorbic acid, color: beta carotene, B12 vitamin.)

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese is available in slices (Cheddar, Original & Mozzarella), grated (Cheddar, Tex Mex, Vegan Classic & Vegan Pizza) and block forms (Smoked & Chèvre).

Aroma & Taste:  Finally, really great-tasting gluten-free vegan cheese products from France have made their way into Malaysia and into my life.  I have tried and tested all of the Nature & Moi (Nature & Me) Dairy Free Cheese products currently available and I have to admit I absolutely love all of the products except for Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese!  First of all, I love and enjoy gluten-free vegan grilled cheese sandwiches and gluten-free vegan pasta so naturally I will always test these different cheese products by using them on these dishes.  With Nature & Moi cheese products, the results are absolutely amazing.  Except for Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese, the rest of the cheese products have different intensities of aroma and flavor yet in general each product has a very smooth, buttery aroma and taste that is more than delicious.  It is divine and that's the reason that it's currently number one on my list of favorite gluten-free vegan cheese.  It has officially dethroned Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack Style Slices from the number one position.  For my top favorites, I was pleasantly surprised to experience the more intense flavor that Nature & Moi Dairy Free Original Cheese Slices has over Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheddar Cheese Slices in spite of the Cheddar one having a darker color.  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Vegan Classic Grated Cheese has a milder flavor that makes it versatile on many pasta dishes and even pizza.  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Smoked Cheese closely resembled the smokey flavor of Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices.

Appearance & Texture:  The Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese Slices (Cheddar, Original and Mozzarella) were very creamy, firm yet easy to remove.  All of the cheese products melted quickly and nicely and the block cheese were easy to slice.  In addition to its outstanding features, one of the best qualities of the Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese Products can be found in the packaging.  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese uses resealable plastic containers which I find to be very smart and convenient especially for children and people on the go.  The idea of the resealable plastic containers makes a lot of economic and practical sense and is very environmentally conscientious considering the current plastic problem affecting the global community today.

Price:  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese is slightly more expensive than Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese but less expensive than Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese.

Before I give my verdict, let me write about the reasons why I dislike Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese.

Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese

(Ingredients: water, vegetable fat: coconut (21%), modified starch, salt, tricalcium citrate, vegan flavor, preservative: sorbic acid, color: beta carotene, B12 vitamin.)

There are two reasons why...

First of all, Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre (Goat) Cheese has a very intense artificial aroma and taste that is sort of medicine-like.  It's very off-putting and I didn't enjoy it at all.  Second, I don't understand why companies that make vegan cheese would incorporate non-vegan images and words in their product labels and promotions.  It baffles me why such companies would make vegan cheese and then use non-vegan elements on the products.  In this case, Nature & Moi made a vegan cheese product and included the word goat on the label to indicate to the buyers that it has a goat cheese-like flavor.  It's very confusing and quite annoying honestly.  I don't understand why they would make vegan cheese that tastes like goat cheese.  Obviously, this is part of a marketing tool to appeal to non-vegans and vegans who have eaten goat cheese.  But how about the other consumers?  Vegans who have never been non-vegans???  How about non-vegans who have never tried goat cheese?  It makes no sense and is pointless to me at every level.

But then, there is probably and possibly a good reason why they really really really had to make such vegan cheese with the word goat on it:
1)  The founder of Nature & Moi has a favorite pet and it's a goat and the name is Chèvre and the founder is probably paying homage to this pet by putting its name on the product.  This could be the reason.
Or...
2)  There is a campaign by Nature & Moi to save goats because goats are probably facing extinction (which is not the vegans' fault by the way!) but which I am very happy to support and I'm sure all vegans will support such cause.  This could be a possible reason.
Or...
3)  There is a famous celebrity in France possibly an environmental activist who is vegan and with a literal head of a goat and is endorsing Nature & Moi products.  Or... there is a famous cartoon or animated goat that is beloved by all in France and that its creator is endorsing Nature & Moi.  Or... there is a real live goat in France that talks and is really famous in the internet.  If this real live talking goat exists and there is a video somewhere in the internet, I have GOT to see it!!!  (Please let this talking goat be real!!!)  Funny... but this could be another reason.
Or...
4)  Nature & Moi is a French company in France where goat cheese is a national pride and treasure and they probably had to have it all the time.  Nature & Moi was probably mandated to create such product.  In their lab, a conversation like this may have occurred... "Nous avons faire du fromage de chèvre végétarien.  Pourquoi?  Car nous sommes français!  Ce n'est pas possible!  Les végétariens sont allées nous détester!  Le faites!  Voilà!" (We have to make vegan goat cheese.  Why?  Because we are French!  It's impossible!  Vegans are going to hate us!  Just do it!  There you go!) (Is my French translation correct?)
Or...
5)  While doing their taste test for their vegan cheese products, Nature & Moi received a demanding order from a group of vegan testers.  "Les végétariens veulent autre chose.  Nous avons le fromage parfait et ils veulent autre chose?  J'en ai fini!  Ces végétariens sont dificiles à contenter.  Nous leurs donnons autre chose...  Après, ils sont allées regretter ils ont demandé.  Nous leurs donnons du fromage de chèvre végétarien."  (The vegans want something else.  We have the perfect cheese and they want something else?  I've had it!  These vegans are hard to please.  We are giving them something else...  After, they will regret they asked!  We are giving them vegan goat cheese!)
Or...
6)  There was a mistake in the labeling and someone comes rushing to the factory.  "Mon Dieu!  C'est une erreur!  C'est fini.  L'étiquette n'est pas pour le fromage.  C'est pour le parfum!  Le parfum de chèvre?  Oui.  C'est pour les testeurs végétariens!"  (Oh my God!  There's a mistake!  It's finished.  The label is not for the cheese.  It's for the perfume!  Goat perfume?  Yes.  It's for the vegan testers!)

If any of the above reasons is true, or probably and possibly all,  then I would accept the existence of this vegan goat cheese.  Until I know for sure, Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese is getting a lot of criticisms from me just for using a non-vegan element in its brand.  Since the product has already been made, I wish they can rename it to not appear like a vegan version of a non-vegan product.  I don't consider Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese a vegan version because its ingredients are totally vegan.  For me, it's not a vegan version of any non-vegan cheese.  Nature & Moi Dairy Free Chèvre Cheese is an original product with an awful taste and bad name.  I wish they could have just named it Nature & Moi Dairy Free Vegan French Cheese.  I would been intrigued and curious and would definitely still try it and not write any of these at all.  A bad name goes a long way and goes on forever and affects everything... including the goat.  As I wrote above, the taste is off-putting and medicine-like and since there's a word goat on the label I feel bad for goats everywhere.  This product has used a goat reference and unfortunately, I don't think the reference is successful.  If goats can react to this, they would probably be really enraged and livid and pissed off and say to Nature & Moi "Oh là là, vous nous donnez une mauvaise réputation!!! (Oh dear, you're giving us a bad name!)"

Verdict:  First of all, Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese is vegan and is registered by the Vegan Society.  It is free from dairy, soy, gluten, lactose and palm oil, has reduced fat and is fortified with calcium and Vitamin B12.  Vitamin B12 is essential for maintaining optimum health and since it's mostly found in animal products, vegans and vegetarians are at a higher risk for Vitamin B12 deficiency if they don't take it daily.  It makes common sense to have many different sources of Vitamin B12 fortified foods in one's diet and Nature & Moi will make an excellent addition to my diet.  Aside from its nutritional benefits,  I find Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese Products to be very promising and encouraging.  It has a very refreshing approach in making gluten-free vegan cheese and obviously, Nature & Moi has been very thoughtful and conscientious in the process of making the cheese from the allergen-free ingredients to the eco-friendly packaging.  However, in terms of names Nature & Moi uses for its different cheese flavors, there is clearly a lot of room for improvement.  Some names are confusing and ambiguous like Original and Vegan Classic.  Qu'est-ce que c'est original?  Qu'est-ce que c'est vegan classic?  As a vegan, I have no idea what Original cheese flavor is.  I have no idea what Vegan Classic cheese flavor is.  Gluten-free vegan cheese flavors can be named in different ways but the names must be unique and different yet clear and straightforward.  Except for the names and the goat-flavor vegan cheese, Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese is definitely a cut above the other gluten-free vegan cheese products like Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese and Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese.  I am thoroughly impressed and will absolutely make Nature & Moi Dairy Free Cheese part of my gluten-free vegan lifestyle.  Nature & Moi is highly recommended!

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheddar Cheese Simply Better Foods (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheese (Simply Better Foods)

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Omega 3 Cheddar

(Ingredients: water, vegetable oil, soybeans (21%), thickener (1401, 1450), tapioca, flavors, vegetable gums (410, 415), yeast extract, salt, food acids (270, 260), natural color (annatto), mineral salt (511).)

Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Mild Cheddar

(Ingredients: water, vegetable oil, soybeans (21%), thickener (1401, 1450), tapioca, flavors, vegetable gums (410, 415), yeast extract, salt, food acids (270, 260), natural color (annatto), mineral salt (511).)

Aroma & Taste:  Both Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Omega 3 Cheddar and Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Mild Cheddar share a similar aroma and taste.  The smell was very mild, slightly nutty and buttery.  The flavor, on the other hand, was delightfully savory.   I find the aroma and taste very original, satisfyingly tasty and a bit addictive.  I used the cheese to make grilled cheese sandwiches and on many occasions, with salads or just on their own.

Appearance & Texture:  Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese comes in block forms which are easily sliced.  However, the texture is not smooth and tends to be gritty and dry.  It breaks apart easily after slicing which I don't mind at all.  I enjoy every chance that I can get to just nibble on bits and pieces of these cheese.  It also melts quickly and makes for an interesting grilled cheese sandwich.

Price:  Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Cheddar is considerably cheaper than Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese.

Verdict:  Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Omega 3 Cheddar and Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Mild Cheddar are simply better especially in terms of flavor and price compared to Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese.  In spite of the grittiness of it, I consider it to be really original and different and totally comforting.  I highly recommend Simply Better Foods Vegan Soy Cheese Cheddar.

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheddar Cheese Follow Your Heart (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheddar Cheese (Follow Your Heart)

Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese Alternative

(Ingredients (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo): filtered water, organic expeller-pressed soybean oil, organic soymilk powder (organic soybeans), natural flavors (contains autolyzed yeast), inulin (chicory root extract), agar agar, nutritional yeast, sea salt, organic soy protein, annatto, lactic acid (vegetable source).)

Aroma & Taste:  Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese is by far my least favorite of the Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese products.  The aroma and taste is similar to that of Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Cheese.  I disliked that Parmesan cheese and I felt totally the same way towards this Cheddar cheese.  It has a strong stinky smell and taste that is unappetizing and uninviting and just repels me every time.

Appearance & Texture:  This Cheddar cheese is in block form that is easily grated and sliced.  It melts quickly as well.  Unfortunately, in addition to the unpleasant aroma and taste, I find the dark orange color of this Cheddar cheese very unappetizing.  When melted, the Cheddar cheese becomes intensely disgusting.

Price:  Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese is in the same high price range as Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella Cheese and the other vegan cheese products of Follow Your Heart.

Verdict:  On a positive note, Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese is now 78% organic from being 74% organic.  On the negative side, there are many undesirable aspects of this product which had led me to conclude that this is the worst vegan cheese product I have ever tried.  I purchased this product, tasted it and wondered... WHAT'S THE POINT???  The stinky aroma and taste, the disgusting color --- are they really necessary?  After reflecting on my many experiences with Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese products, it seemed to me that Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese products were produced to cater to a specific consumer demographic in mind --- and that is non-vegans who are trying vegan products or novice vegans who were previously non-vegans.  To me, Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese is the unfortunate result of desperate ideas and misguided efforts combined.  I was unimpressed and felt the product was lacking in every aspect of a truly great tasting and satisfying vegan product.  This product fell short and missed the mark.  As a gluten-free vegan, I am immensely insulted that Follow Your Heart company thinks this product is acceptable to vegans.  As a human being, I feel worse and utterly humiliated to have subjected myself to this product.  My verdict on this product is simple.  I have to 'follow my heart' and state that I cannot recommend Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Cheddar Cheese to anyone even to the most daring of all vegans.

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheese Slices (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Cheese Slices

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Pepper Jack Style Slices

(Ingredients (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo, soy-free): filtered water, coconut oil, modified food starch, sea salt, green jalapeño peppers, red bell peppers, natural flavor (plant sources), olive extract.)

Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Smoked Gouda Style Slices

(Ingredients (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo, soy-free): filtered water, coconut oil, modified food starch, potato starch, sea salt, natural smoke flavor (plant sources), olive extract, beta carotene (color).)

Aroma & Taste:  Among all the Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese products, Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack Style Slices is number 1 on my favorite list.  Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices is in second place.  Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack Style Slices has a spicy pepper flavor that gives it a good depth.  It lends a lovely peppery bite to it that is very tasty with a bit of heat and a kick.   On the other hand, Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices has a lovely smokey aroma & taste that tends to be slightly salty at times.  And that is why it's in second place.  I've used these two vegan cheese slices to make grilled cheese sandwiches, veggie wraps, baked potatoes, baked eggplant and even salads.  I find the dishes somehow well-seasoned and surprisingly good and delicious.

Appearance & Texture:  Both vegan cheese slices are quite firm yet creamy in texture.  However, these vegan cheese slices can be hard to peel off from the pack.  Each piece of cheese slice is not individually wrapped in plastic so I had to use a very thin, fine knife to surgically remove each cheese slice from the pack so as not to tear the cheese apart.  Peeling off every cheese slice required time, caution and a lot of patience on my part.  When it was time to melt it, melting was quick and easy.  Pepper Jack Style Slices and Smoked Gouda Style Slices always made my grilled cheese sandwiches very appetizing and absolutely delicious.

Price:  Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack Style Slices and Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices are both pricey and cost more or less the same as Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Cheese and Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella Cheese.

Verdict:  There's some improvement that can be done in terms of reducing the saltiness of the Smoked Gouda cheese slices as well as easy peeling of the cheese slices especially for children and hungry eaters who are in a rush.  Generally, Follow Your Heart Pepper Jack Style Slices and Follow Your Heart Smoked Gouda Style Slices are by far the best of the Follow Your Heart Vegan Cheese products.  They're very expensive, however, they helped me create tasty gluten-free vegan dishes that are consistently good every time.  And for that, I am extremely happy and highly approve and recommend these two products.

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Mozzarella Cheese (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Mozzarella Cheese

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella Cheese Alternative

(Ingredients (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo): filtered water, organic expeller-pressed soybean oil, organic soymilk powder (organic soybeans), natural flavors (plant sources), inulin (chicory root extract), agar agar, sea salt, organic soy protein, lactic acid (vegetable source).)

Aroma & Taste:  Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella cheese has a very mild soy aroma and taste almost to the point of being bland which I didn't mind at all.  Mozzarella is a kind of cheese that's meant to play a supporting role in any dish.   But that I mean, it's complementary and not meant to overpower the flavor of the dishes.  Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella cheese complements a lot of my dishes like pizzas, sandwiches, baked potatoes and eggplant slices and I was adequately pleased with it.

Appearance & Texture:  This particular vegan Mozzarella cheese is a block cheese that can be easily sliced and grated.  It has a very creamy texture and takes a longer time to melt.   At different times, this cheese seems soggy and too watery and tends to spoil easily.

Price:  This vegan Mozzarella cheese is just as expensive as the Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Cheese.

Verdict:  I appreciate that Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella cheese is now 84% organic from being 81% organic and that it also provides Omega-3.  I liked how this vegan Mozzarella cheese worked quite nicely with my dishes and didn't change their overall flavor and texture.  However, the results were inconsistent and as a whole, I consider Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella cheese to be subpar.  I had high hopes for this product but I was left wanting more.  Furthermore, the soggy and watery texture and the price make it unacceptable for me.  So without a shadow of a doubt, it's a 100% No More for Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Mozzarella cheese.  I can live and enjoy the rest of my gluten-free vegan life without vegan Mozzarella cheese until a new product comes my way...  For anyone who doesn't mind a challenge no matter what the consequence, go ahead and try this product.

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Parmesan Cheese (Malaysia)

Gluten-Free Vegan 101 Review - Gluten-Free Vegan Parmesan Cheese

From the pan to the pen, here is the Gluten-Free Vegan Baker's review of one of the current gluten-free vegan products available in Malaysia.  This review is dedicated to all vegans in Malaysia and beyond who are also in a gluten-free diet.  For the sake of all vegans, this review will make no reference or comparisons to non-vegan products.

Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Shredded Cheese Alternative

(Ingredients (vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, non-gmo, soy-free): filtered water, organic palm fruit oil, modified food starch, canola oil, natural flavors (plant source [contains autolyzed yeast]), vegetable glycerin, less than 2% of: lactic acid (vegetable source), calcium lactate (vegetable source), sea salt, sodium phosphate, carrageenan, bamboo fiber, nutritional yeast, calcium phosphate, organic chickpea miso (organic handmade rice koji, organic whole chickpeas, sea salt, water, koji spores), sunflower lecithin, citric acid, annatto.)

Aroma & Taste:  I have tried this product a long time ago during one of my travels abroad and it seemed that the aroma and taste haven't changed.  Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Shredded Cheese has a rich, nutty, salty flavor that is overpowered by its stinky smell that I find to be quite unpleasant and undesirable.  The smell of the cheese was off-putting and was overpowering the flavor of the pasta dish.  Whenever I made vegan pasta, I placed a small amount of the cheese to reduce the 'stinkability' factor..

Appearance & Texture:  This Parmesan cheese is not entirely ground to fine texture.  There are long strips of cheese in the container that I can easily handle and crush by hand and spread or top over pasta.  And it doesn't take long to melt it.

Price:  This Parmesan cheese is without a doubt very expensive.

Verdict:  As a gluten-free vegan for many years, I have made gluten-free vegan pasta of many kinds without adding vegan Parmesan cheese and I can honestly say that I can continue cooking and eating gluten-free vegan pasta without vegan Parmesan cheese.  I love the way I prepare my pasta dishes and I can continue enjoying them without Follow Your Heart Dairy Free Parmesan Cheese.  At the back of this container, the label reads "You can't go wrong with this Parmesan."  I strongly disagree and I was really disappointed.  I have sacrificed my palate, my wallet and my sensibilities over this product and I can truly say that I am not a fan of this product.  Due to its high price and taste, I cannot for the life of me bring this product back to my kitchen or include this product in my grocery list in the future.  However, for anyone who has a lot of money and even the courage or curiosity to try this product, it might be worth giving it a chance.
