For a delightful worry-free trip abroad, always arm yourself with an arsenal of essential words.  Trust me... you'll think twice before leaving home without them.


When traveling to Malaysia or Singapore, you might find these words useful:


bread – roti  (roh tih)
celiac – seliak  (seh lee yak)
cheese – keju  (keh joo)
dairy – tenusu  (teh noo soo)   
egg – telur  (tuh loor)
fish – ikan  (eeh kahn)
gluten-free – tanpa gandum  (tahn puh gahn doom)
I am vegan – Saya vegan  (sah yuh vee gahn)
I am vegetarian – Saya vegetarian  (sah yuh ve je ta ree yahn)
I don’t eat – Saya tidak makan  (sa yuh ti da mah kan)
kosher – halal  (hah lahl)
